Get ready for some active adventuring on a seven-day trip that’s big on natural beauty! Hike, bike and kayak around some of Alaska’s best scenic spots and make the most of countless photo ops. Visit Denali National Park – home to some of Alaska’s best and most scenic walking trails, paddle the pristine waters of Resurrection Bay, take a guided hike on top of the Matanuska Glacier, cycle the scenic Tony Knowles Coastal Trail and visit one of the oldest and most picturesque towns in the state (which is also the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park). With an expert local leader to guide your way and a small group of likeminded active adventurers, you’ve got the perfect week!
Highlights
- Kayak the calm waters of Resurrection Bay among the mountain vistas and look out for sea otters, seals, bald eagles, porpoises and leaping salmon. Then, head out on a beach walk and rainforest hike, stopping by a waterfall.
- Walk atop the ice of the largest car-accessible glacier in Alaska – the Matanuska – on an educational tour led by a local Alaskan guide and glacier expert (with all technical gear provided).
- Cycle the paved Tony Knowles Coastal Trail like the locals do as it hugs the shore of Cook Inlet and travels through coastal marshes over forested hills. Soak in the amazing views of Mount Susitna as you go.
- Visit Denali National Park – home to the tallest peak in North America (Denali) – and witness the gorgeous scenery of this Alaskan hotspot.
- Hike the spectacular Triple Lakes Trail, Denali National Park’s longest trail, which has great views of Riley Creek, towering mountains and the three Triple Lakes.

Travis our leader was exceptional and made this trip extra memorable. Seeing Alaska with this tour allowed us to go deeper and truly experience it. The views were breathtaking even on a drive, the food was 20/10, the accomodations were MUCH better than expected, and activities were so fun! Wish the trip could have been longer!

An adventure of a lifetime. Experience the mountains, moose, seas and cities of Alaska. Travis took all the stress out of travelling for our group, allowing us to focus on soaking up everything.

Wes was the perfect trip leader. The perfect mix of easy-going and professional, committed to this being a good experience for everyone. His love of Alaska was so very evident, as was his experience and skill as a trip leader. The Bike/Hike/Kayak trip was a mild physical experience, a fine intro to Alaska.

Awesome trip through Alaska! We were able to do a lot in a short period of time and our guide was knowledgeable, clearly loved Alaska and made our time memorable. The hikes and kayaking allowed us to get away from the crowds and experience the awe of the landscape.

Slightly less scenic and way more rain than expected, but both the guide and his itinerary were faultless.

We had one of our best trips with Intrepid. A wonderful experience seeing Alaska on foot, bike and kayak. From Denali to Seward we had great activities with an excellent tour leader. There were a few nice surprises added to our itinerary that made the whole trip even better.

This was my first Intrepid Travel trip but most definitely will not be my last. Trip leader went above and beyond. It will be hard for another leader to live up to Wes! Small group size is excellent! The only way I will travel going forward. I not only had an outstanding trip to Alaska, with many great memories and experiences, but I came away with new friends!

Intrepid Tours is the perfect way to explore unknown destinations such as Alaska- biking, hiking & kayaking allowed for my family to experience the best of Alaska, up close. Seward was such a beautiful, quaint town … thank you Intrepid for a wonderful, fun spirited, laugh filled and active week for my family!

Itinerary misleading . We had 1 hike and 2 walks. Last day 2 options given for hike, ranger guide or self. At the end discovered guide and 1 guest went on extended hike , ( Marmot) which was disappointing . Group was active , could have done more . Best activities were ones we did ourselves , the fjord dinner cruise and the trolley tour. Good trip and group , but not sure we got the value this time. Other groups maybe ok with it but I think our group could have done more activities. Seward day first, then up may be an option. Overall good rating
