As someone new to group travel I was impressed and thoroughly delighted with Intrepid’s Best of Peru Tour. I felt safe, inspired and educated throughout our exciting adventure. It was full of WOW moments. All our guides were caring, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The local communities were welcoming and joyful. A truly humbling and memorable experience from beginning to end. Thank you.

Amazing trip! Machu Picchu, of course, did not disappoint but an extra excursion to Palccoyo Mountain was a memory I will never forget. This was truly an intro into various parts of Peru. I learned so much about its history and the Peruvian people. The boatride on Lake Titicaca and the homestay with a Quechuan family were surprisingly fantastic. Our guide Leo was spectacular…the perfect host. Highly recommend this trip.

Excellent trip. Good tour of major sights in Peru. Machu Picchu definitely was a highlight but the Uros Islands visit and farm stay turned out wonderful too.

Our tour leader Leo went out of his way to make sure we had the best experience in Peru. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Machu Picchu was obviously one of the highlights, but the homestay at Lake Titicaca felt very special. I will also never forget the add-on excursion to Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain with our amazing guide Cintia. Peru deserves its good reputation and I miss the people there…

If you're wavering about going on this tour of Peru, don't! It was absolutely amazing from start to finish! Leo our guide was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Matchu Picchu was stunning and an extra visit to Rainbow mountain was another highlight. The visit to the Reed houses and homestay were also very interesting. Thank you Leo and Intrepid for a wonderful tour...I'll definitely travel with you again!

Trip of a lifetime. Have travelled a fair amount, though never with a tour group. Before we left, it felt like a lot of money, but whilst we were on the trip, it felt absolutely worth it. Some amazing memories, and especially the local experiences that I never would’ve got if I’d organised myself. I understand why so many people are repeat Intrepid customers. I can recommend earplugs/noise cancelling headphones for most of the hotels though. Most hotels didn't have adequate soundproofing - a fair few tired people each morning! Probably need 50 GBP in soles and 50 GBP in USD minimum for tips. Extra for spending money. Ubaldo/Bobby was a fantastic tour guide - interesting, funny and very knowledgeable with any question we asked. I will be saving up for my next intrepid tour as soon as I’m back ????

Our guide, Bobby, loves his country and culture which he enthusiastically shared with our mixed group of travellers. His knowledge and enthusiasm ensured we had a great trip. The altitude was challenging for most of the group who worked together to help each other. Machu Picchu was fantastic and the home stay at Lake Titicaca was a real gem. This is definitely a trip you should do at least once. Loved it

The tour gives you so much more than you would get travelling solo. The local guides, the homestay and other activities give you such an insight into Peru. It was the knowledge and passion of our wonderful tour leader Ali that was the biggest factor that we all agreed made the trip so special.

I had such high hopes for my trip to Peru. At the end of my trip my expectations were exceeded. Well, I'm sure Intrepid has several amazing tour guides, Leo was fabulous. Thoughtful, knowledgeable, and very approachable.

The classic Perú trip was fantastic. An excellent way to see the country and the guide Leo was excellent.

Our tour guide Leo Reyes was excellent! His knowledge and organizational skills were very useful. We experienced a couple of incidents and he was very good about explaining the situations. I (and several other members) got altitude sickness and Intrepid’s crew on the ground in Puno were very responsive and helpful!

The "Classic Peru" tour, our first exposure to both Intrepid and Peru, has been an awesome experience. We discovered natural and historical Peru, Peru's amazing people, and the rich Aymara and Quechua cultures. We saw Peru through our tour guide Giscard Condori's eyes and heart.

An organized tour of the highlights of Peru. Loved the home visit on Lake Titicaca. We appreciated specific guides for Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca. Shirley was a knowledgeable and helpful leader.

From the food/restaurant choices, to the tour guide, and the beauty of Peru itself, this is one of the best trips you could take whether by yourself or with family!
10/21/2023
Although a short trip with a lot of travel involved there is a great opportunity to understand Peru better. I'm sure, as for me, Machu Picchu is a high objective for anyone visiting Peru and they won't be disappointed. But the piece that I will take home to share with my family is most likely to be the interactions with local people, be they hotel staff, restaurant staff, street vendors or in particular the 'moms' in the homestay. It ahs been a truly memorable journey!

It was a wonderful world wind tour through the highlights of the fantastic and intriguing country of Peru, from the capital to Machu Pichu , the highlands of beautiful Cusco and a home stay on lake Titikaka I will never forget!
