Experience Overview
The northern province of Rajasthan is awash with all the colours of India, and the best way to immerse yourself in local life is of course on two wheels.
The northern province of Rajasthan is awash with all the colours of India, and the best way to immerse yourself in local life is of course on two wheels. Over 15 days, you’ll explore Delhi’s wonders, wander the streets of Jaipur (the Pink City), cycle to the holy lake of Pushkar where pilgrims cleanse their sins, and the White City of Udaipur, known as the ‘Venice of the East’. Ride through the Chittorgarh countryside, stay in a 16th-century castle, search for tigers in the Ranthambhore National Park, catch some rest in a 400-year-old first and then set your sights on the Taj Mahal in Agra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. With plenty of opportunity to meet locals, sip on chai and feast on the delicious local cuisine – you'll fall even harder for India’s allure.
Highlights
- Take the road less travelled and cycle through the rural villages and serene countryside of Rajasthan, passing old settlements, traditional architecture and authentic rural life.
- Ride through India’s countryside away from the tourist track, beyond the icons and to landscapes that offer authentic glimpses into the real life of locals.
- Tick the Taj Mahal off your bucket list – one of the Seven Wonders of the World, this iconic structure is also one of the most recognisable buildings on earth and is a must-see for any trip to India.
- Discover the rich history and wander the amazing architecture of the Amber Fort, just outside of Jaipur, with the expertise of a local guide by your side.
- Search for wildlife in the jungle of Ranthambhore National Park – the best place to see wild tigers in Rajasthan. As well as the resident striped beasts, you can also look out for leopards, wild boar, hyenas, nilgai and local birdlife.

After the first day the cycling was pretty modest for a fit cyclist. We saw a lot of the real India and the big tourist honeypot places. The safari isn't up to African standards but still worthwhile. The trip leader Saby and support crew were all very friendly and competent.

A great trip with a good balance of cycle stages and coach transfers between the "must visit" destinations and more "off the track" locations. Memorable accommodation in heritage buildings. The trip was extremely well supported with vehicles, crew and a knowledgeable local leader who added invaluable context to the places we visited.

An amazing trip through one area of India led by tour guide Bhupesh who was nothing short of a star in every respect! The highlights of staying in a fort and the first bike ride through Delhi before dawn will stay with me a long time. Don't be put off by the thought of cycling here, it's amazing and you get a real close up view of India I can't imagine you'd get any other way.

This is the best of holidays! Cycling through remote villages, avoiding cows , dogs, goats and waving at locals is exciting and exhilarating. Visiting important historic sites is informative and, at times, awe inspiring. The intrepid team make sure you have the very best of times!

If you like to mix being active with exploring another culture and sightseeing, then this is the trip for you. I will never forget the experience of cycling through some of the rural villages and seeing the absolute delight of the faces of the children and locals as we pedalled through. Our tour leader, Bhupesh, was absolutely outstanding - his organisational skills, attention to detail and constant supply of information, all combined with a fabulous sense of humour meant that I experienced the trip of a lifetime. Thank you Bhupesh .

This was an amazing trip on so many levels. It was well planned with a wide range of cultural and spiritual experiences, a mix of wonderful architecture, local interaction in small villages, and peaceful time in nature. The accommodation and food were excellent, and we were in the hands of our wonderful, attentive guide, Anand. The cycling was a lot of fun. I can not recommend this trip enough!

A wonderful 2 week tour that takes in all the big sights in Rajastan and gives you opportunity to experience rural India at first hand. Whilst the scenery is often unmemorable it is more that made up by the constant smiles and waves of interested locals that come out to meet the group. Highly recommend.

What a fabulous trip this was. From start to finish. Incredible sights, experiences, friendly rural people, uber excited children when they saw us, the culture and wisdom of the country. Our team Shiv, Krishna and Ustam who were there for us along the way with smiles, drinks, snacks and clean bus and bikes every day. As for our guide, Anand, there was no one like him. He went over and beyond his duty to make our experiences of Rajasthan truly memorable.
