Experience Overview
Take a scenic journey through Croatia and Slovenia on this 14-day trip from Dubrovnik to Ljubljana. See both history and nature at their best, including Roman ruins, walled cities, unspoilt beaches and rugged islands just off the Adriatic Coast.
Highlights
- Explore the green island of Mljet – with its small seaside villages, national park trails, shimmering waters and largely untouched environment, you might never want to leave!
- Snack on salty cheese made from sheep’s milk during a trip to the karst island of Pag, where a determined group of islanders wring themselves a living from the barren, rocky landscape.
- Join a guided tour of the 4th-century Diocletian’s Palace in Split, which reveals not just the Roman-era beauty, but also the local businesses in the alleyways and cellars of this epic structure.
- Gaze over the beautiful hillside, lavender fields and vineyards of Hvar Island during a leisurely organic dinner at an agriturismo.
- Stroll through Plitvice Lakes National Park and see the luminous lakes and waterfalls that seem to have been sketched by an artist.

This trip is so overpriced..256.00 a day..you get transport and a 2 to 3 star room..no guides, few meals, very, very few activities, cost to you. about 50 dollars, do it on your own! remember first day is only meeting group, last day is leaving so take 2 days off and then calculate!

Fantastic full two weeks from Dubrovnik to Bled! Ours was a small intimate group and felt like we were a family on vacation. Our Sarajevan guide was enthusiastic and full of energy; he knew the language, sites, etc. It was nice to have a local as our guide for the trip. Great adventure, food, drinks, experience, views, history, everything!!

I definitely recommend this trip, especially the first half (Dubrovnik to Split). The Croatian coastline between Dubrovnik and Split is so stunning you just have to see it! The towns we visited are breathtaking, especially Dubrovnik's old town - it's definitely worth the hype - but the other towns have that medieval feel to them too with cobblestone streets and buildings made from stone. Plitvice Lakes National Park and Lake Bled are the highlights of the second half of the trip - and beyond gorgeous. If I were to go again, I probably would take the Intrepid tour from Dubrovnik to Split, then go to Plitvice Lakes National Parks on my own, spend a couple of days there, and then go to Lake Bled and explore a little more of Slovenia. Pula's Amphitheatre would make an interesting stop for about an hour along the way and Rovinj deserves maybe 2 hours, I found the rest of the tour stops a little disappointing. A lot of time was spent in destinations I would have skipped. Still, I highly recommend Croatia and Slovenia to anyone who is thinking of going - you won't regret it!
