Experience Overview
This nine-day trip will tick all your boxes – outdoor adventures, bustling city life and an introduction to the slower pace of the Nepali countryside.
This nine-day trip will tick all your boxes – outdoor adventures, bustling city life and an introduction to the slower pace of the Nepali countryside. Start and end your trip in Kathmandu's bustling metropolis with your small group of fellow solo travellers, explore Durbar Square and wander the vibrant streets. Then, pull on your adventure boots and hit the road outta town for a rafting experience in Pokhara, camp on the riverside and enjoy dinner beneath the stars by the Trisuli River with your new friends. Then, band together and trek the Annapurna region. Enjoy the chance to stay with local families along the way, including in a remote village in Hemjakot where you’ll tuck into a home-cooked dinner.
Highlights
- Get wet and wild on a whitewater rafting adventure on the Trisuli River (the most popular river in Nepal for rafting), where you’ll zoom downstream next to giant boulders and gorges and between bright green hills.
- Stretch your legs on an awesome three-night, low-altitude trek through rural villages and rhododendron forests, taking in views of the Annapurna Ranges.
- Kick back in super-Zen Pokhara, where you can take a boat out and float the day away on the smooth waters of Phewa Lake. Cruise beneath behemoth mountains and find serenity.
- Start and end your trip in the bustling metropolis of Kathmandu – explore Durbar Square, wander the chaotic streets or simply kick back with a relaxing massage to soothe those post-four-day-hike feels.
- Enjoy some local hospitality with a homestay with a local family in Hemjakot – this community’s architecture reflects the traditional style of the Himalayas. Get an insight into countryside culture as you take in the views from a traditional teahouse.

Really enjoyable week and a great introduction to the adventurous side of Nepal. Although the walk wasn’t the easiest, our trip leader was great and supporting everyone to complete the trek. If you want to experience Nepal without a high altitude trek, then this is the trip for you.

This trip was a great introduction to Nepal and to trekking. It was fast paced but amazing. The rafting was a great addition to the trip, breaking up the journey to Pokhara. All of the facilities were great on the trip!

The intrepid tour, led by our enthusiastic local leader NB, was great way to visit Nepal with other like-minded travellers. Highlights were guiding a boat through rapids on the Trishuli river and seeing the Himalayas from Ghandrak.

I had a wonderful time exploring Nepal through white water rafting and hiking in the Annapurna Valley. It was so beautiful and so much fun. Our guide Nar and assistant guides Padam and Ram and our porters and white water rafting crew were all fabulous. I always felt safe and was well taken care of. A must do, especially for those looking for some adventure.

Amazing trip, I loved every minute! The walk and views were incredible, and went beyond my expectations! Be prepared for a lot of stairs both uphill and downhill, it can be quite tough on the knees.

I had an amazing time on the basic Nepal trip, it exceeded my expectations. The activities and accommodation were even better than I was expecting. It was a great mixture of activities and we saw so much in only one week. Our guide (TT) was fantastic :)

I really enjoyed this trip! It would’ve been a lot more difficult to navigate the country without traveling with a group/guide. The trip provided a good introduction to Nepalese culture and also life in the mountains. The trek was well organized and offered great views of the Annapurna mountain ranges. I would def recommend and am looking forward to visiting Nepal again soon.

Rafting was very enjoyable and felt safe, good trek variety each day and good accommodation. Porters provided for the trekking so no need for a large rucksack (apart from getting luggage to the starting hotel).
