The trip was ok but lacked original ideas and creativity to make it a unique experience. Some hotels were really under par

Our Sri Lanka trip was a 10...this Indonesia trip was not the caliber that we experienced from our last trip. We booked assuming this was a continuous tour not three individual tours placed back to back. We wasted time on the meet and greet days which we assumed was only once not 3 times. The trips repeated 3 rice paddy walks, 3 village walks 2 homestays 2 volcano hikes. There were 5 of us on the complete tour and we had all interpreted the itinerary the same way. accommodations in Sri Lanka exceeded our expectation...however several hotels were way below standard especially in cleanliness. I don't expect 5 star hotels but I do expect rooms and bedding to be clean. Some of the transportation was not suitable for large groups. The Java tour is too short for the distance travelled mostly because of traffic... several days of more than 10 hours in the bus and then rushed for time at your destination.

For someone who is not capable/willing to plan a trip themselves it is a very convenient way to discover parts of the world. However, there are more things to do/see which fall out of the itinerary and there is not much opportunity to plan or suggest stops at those places,

I like the G way of touring where we get varied experience and a deeper understanding of the culture and people of the country. This trip was not as well structured as previous trips with G and similar companies, hence the rating of 7.
