Day 1: Malé/South Malé Atoll

The shallow islands and plentiful coral reefs make it a key feeding ground for many species of tropical fish. 70 different species of colourful corals make up the flora of this underwater city, with more than 700 species of fish and other marine life making up its fauna. Snorkelling is one of the simplest ways to experience this impressive underwater world.Free_time - Relax on the beach, go for a swim, have a cocktail, or read a book. The afternoon is yours to enjoy.
Day 2-6: South Malé Atoll/Felidhu Atholhu
Aboard the dhoni, spend free time as you please – lounge on the sundecks and take in the views, relax with a good book, or socialize with fellow travellers as you enjoy delicious local seafood.
Off the boat, opt to swim and enjoy snorkelling about twice a day amongst the spectacular marine life of the Maldives. The shallow islands and amazing coral reefs make it a key feeding ground for many species of tropical fish. Keep an eye out for turtles, reef sharks, stingrays, and octopuses.
Cruise to the southernmost point of South Malé Atoll before crossing the channel into Felidhu Atoll. The main industry here is fishing and there is typically an opportunity to see traditional boat-building on at least one of the islands.

When meals are not included, your tour leader (where available) will be happy to help with restaurant recommendations, bookings, and directions. I was quite sad that the trip did not meet my expectations. I have loved my precious G Adventures trips but felt like the information provide prior to the trip did not align with the trip and our CEO was uninterested.

After traveling with G Adventures on at least ten trips, this was one of my favourites. It was a very small group (three passengers), but the best way to see the Maldives. We also spent a day at a resort at the end of our trip, and we instantly could feel the difference.

Trip was fantastically organised. Easy to book and find the company at the airport. We travelled on a boat (rather than resort) which meant we saw much more of the Maldives. Our tour guide Sunil was also fantastic.

For me, travelling around the Maldives in a boat where you get to explore both some of the islands and the amazing underwater life, is way better than what mode of travel most people going to the Maldives choose: resorts. You get to know the country in a totally different way when seeing it from a traditional dhoni, and therefore I would definitely recommend others to do the same!
