Clear your plate for flavour-filled Morocco, where Amazigh, Arabic and European influences mix to create an adventurous culinary medley.
Clear your plate for flavour-filled Morocco, where Amazigh, Arabic and European influences mix to create an adventurous culinary medley. On this 12-day journey, follow the smell of food through mesmerising markets and master recipes taught by those who know them best. Grab street food from a souq and share traditional meals in local homes. Take a handful of bustling medinas, mix with a sprinkling of spices and season with fresh local produce, all drizzled with warm Moroccan hospitality for an adventure that will linger long on the tongue and in the memory.
Highlights
- Get a real insight into Moroccan food with a home-cooked dinner in the ‘blue city’ of Chefchaouen. Prepared with seasonal ingredients, you’ll tuck into a dish that’s bursting with local flavour and made with love.
- Do it yourself during hands-on cooking classes and demonstrations where you’ll learn how to make cous cous, pastilla, stuffed medfouna and local salads.
- See behind the scenes when you meet local producers of goat’s cheese in Chefchaouen, follow tasting trails through Fes and Marrakech’s medinas and visit a women's cooperative producing Argan oil.
- Grab a fork and dig into Morocco’s most iconic dishes – tagine, pastilla, cous cous and camel burgers await!
- Watch the sunset from the back of a camel in the Sahara, then enjoy a homecooked dinner at your desert camp stay under the North African stars.
- By travelling on this trip, you’ll learn about our Intrepid Foundation partner, Amal. Donations support them to provide women in Morocco with culinary skills training to help improve livelihoods. Intrepid will double your impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to The Intrepid Foundation.

"Get around Morocco " with a slight dash of food emphasis. In general good to go, for foodies kind of dull and warmed up taste to it. So manage your expectations.

Our local guide was very knowledgeable and made each day so interesting. I feel I really got to experience some of the best of Morocco on this great value tour.

An incredible journey across Marocco with a wonderful guide, Abdellah, who enriched our experience and facilitated the great chemistry that formed within the group. I feel like I've truly discovered Morocco beyond a superficial level and have acquired so much knowledge on the country's food and culture. I can't wait to go back and explore some areas like the Atlas further!

Canada LOVES Morocco! Everyone must put this on their travel list. The food and people are amazing. Travel in the off-season if you are from a cold climate, as it can get very hot there.

What an adventure. 12 days. New friends and memories. Ever changing scenery, walks through medinas and oases, the epic camel ride into the desert, and sharing meals with families in their homes. This tour brings you the real Morocco. Our guide Mohamed was amazing. Passionate and knowledgeable and always available to answer questions or handle issues. He wanted each day's adventure to be an eleven, and each was. Sadly, one of our group provided challenges. This was not the right tour for them. Mohamed showed his professionalism by listening and helping them so they could enjoy aspects of the tour. Intrepid offers a unique way to travel by immersing you in the country's culture off the beaten path. I could not recommend this adventure and guide Mohamed more highly.

A fabulous way to explore an amazing diverse country of stunning landscapes. As part of a small group you engage with families and the major sites of Morocco. Experience the people and culture through food. What could be better.

This is a fantastic trip with many unique experiences one would never have one’s own. We visited so many wonderful, unique and lovely places. Staying in guesthouses and sharing meals with families in their homes is incredibly special experience. Guide was simply amazing. Don’t worry about nonsense like sleeping bags and toting your own luggage - accommodations were great, linens and blankets are always provided and wee never once carried our own bags. If you have any hesitation - go for it! Amazing and unique experience you could never have on your own. Truly trip of a lifetime.

Great if exhausting trip, covering so much of Morocco from bustling towns to the vastness of the Sahara in just 12 days. Loved the food theme and activities. Whilst the cuisine did feel limited (compared to variety at home) the pride, hospitality and enthusiasm shown by our hosts was second to none.

A trip that afforded insight into another culture. The food, color, fellowship, experiences all made the time in Morocco an experience to never be forgotten. Camal riding a hoot, eating in private people's homes, private tours of cities with locals, thoughts about culture and history, thank you Intrepid.

Hamid our guide was exceptional! He taught us so much about Morocco, its history, people and culture. He was attentive to all our needs and made certain our group was very well taken care of. Our driver Hamoud was also very helpful and professional. The pace of the tour was good and we covered considerable ground. The home cooked meals and demonstrations were exceptional. The small inns and family homes were lovely. If I had one bit of criticism it would be for the Moroccan House Hotel in Casablanca. The staff were lovely and did the best they could but the hotel itself is tired and needs some refurbishment. I was wowed by this Real Food tour thanks largely to the services Hamid and Hamoud. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested. Thanks so much for a
