En route to Uhuru, emerge onto high-alpine deserts with amazing views of ice fields and the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro! Known as the "Whiskey Route" because of the tougher challenge, this path leads you through magnificent forests before traversing a ridge leading through moorland to the Shira Plateau. It offers great scenery beneath the glaciated precipices of the southern ice fields before summiting from the higher Barafu Camp. Camp along the route with support from local guides and porters. Day 1: Moshi
Day 2: Moshi/Machame camp
Most of the day is spent in the gorgeous and fascinating, forested slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro, most of which is considered to be rainforest zone.
Depending on the weather, the trail will be soggy and possibly muddy if it rains.
Day 3: Machame camp/Shira 2 Camp
Day 4: Shira 2 Camp/Barranco Camp
Day 5: Barranco Camp/Barafu Camp
Day 6: Barafu Camp/Mweka Camp
The route from Barafu Camp to the summit is mentally and physically, the longest, most challenging day of the entire trek. Despite the difficulty, the memory of conquering Mt Kilimanjaro will stay with you forever.
Day 7: Mweka Camp/Moshi
Arrive to Moshi in the afternoon. Time to relax, take a shower, and celebrate with a drink. Cheers to climbing Mt Kilimanjaro! Before dinner, you will be welcomed and congratulated on your climb by the mamas of the Moshi Women's Cooperative, a project supported by G Adventures. They will present you with a gift and a certificate to remember all your efforts on the mountain.

When meals are not included, your tour leader (where available) will be happy to help with restaurant recommendations, bookings, and directions. You are responsible for your personal belongings throughout the tour. You will need to carry your own bags between the vehicle and your hotel room. Drivers will assist with loading and unloading luggage from the vehicle.

This tour requires an Average level of fitness. Activities are paced gently and include leisure time. You may be expected to join guided walks of up to one hour, navigate short stairways and mild inclines, and manage your own luggage. You should also be able to board and exit all transport without assistance.

I usually don't enjoy guided tours, but this experience exceeded all my expectations. I don't want to give away too much, but the attention to detail by the team was truly impressive! All you need to do is walk; everything else is taken care of.

I am extremely appreciative of the degree of commitment the guides and porters had in supporting us to get to the summit. I have spoken to other travelers who went with cheaper tour operators and this seems to be the key feature that we were privileged

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro was a great experience with G adventures. Everything had been thought through, the staff were very accommodating to the individuals needs,always with a smile on their faces and helping in any way they could.

Trekking Mt Kilimanjaro was hard but it made the achievement all the more spectacular. The crew were wonderful and supported us so that the whole group made it to the top. This experience was life changing and life affirming in many ways.

This was my first time undertaking such an intense challenge; previously, I had barely been 1000m above sea level, let alone 5000m. My friends and I signed up without fully grasping what lay ahead. The experience itself was tough
