Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco: Capital of the Incas
Arrive to Cusco at any time and transfer to the hotel. Meet your fellow group members at the welcome meeting in the evening and get all the important information about the adventure ahead. Afterwards, head to a nearby restaurant for a delicious welcome dinner with new friends.
Day 2: Cusco: Your OMG Day
Choice of activity in the morning, both options including lunch. Enjoy a free afternoon and evening to choose from one of the many great restaurants, or join the CEO at their local favourite.
Day 3: Amazon Jungle: Rainforest Wilderness
Fly from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado and continue by boat upriver to the jungle lodge, your base of exploration by boat and on foot for the next couple of days. Local community members make up the majority of lodge staff, including multilingual naturalist guides. Take the opportunity to learn about the area's rich flora and fauna and locals' extensive use of medicinal plants and other forest plant resources through traditional techniques for building, fishing, and hunting.
Day 4: Amazon Jungle: In Search of Wildlife
Head out early to catch the jungle at its wildest (and coolest). Walk slowly through the forest searching for wildlife before heading out on an oxbow lake by canoe. Search for anaconda, the elusive giant river otter, or black caiman. Even if you don't spot these shy creatures, there are plenty of other birds, interesting plants, and other animals about.
Day 5: Lima: Back to the coast
Return to Puerto Maldonado for the flight to Lima. Stop to Visit the bohemian neighbourhood of Monumental Callao on the way to Miraflores from the airport and enjoy a farewell dinner next to the ruins of Huaca Pucllana.

This was such a fun trip! G Adventure thought of everything! The tour guides are so very knowledgeable. I never had to guess what the itinerary is for each day because everything is thoroughly explained. The group is small enough that everyone got to learn about each other. I still keep in touch with some of the people in my group. Peru is such a beautiful country. Machu Picchu is a place that had been on my bucket list. Seeing it in person was awesome! The Rainbow Mountain hike was pretty challenging but was definitely worth it. Staying in a beautiful lodge in the Amazon jungle was so fun. We didn't get to see any anaconda but we saw many other animals. The food in Peru is diverse and delicious. Maracuya sour is a must-have. I can't say enough about how fun and memorable this trip had been. Thank you Washington (our tour guide)!

Crew and Naturalists were great. Vessel is a relic of times past but comfortable and easy to use on the itenary. Iquitos to Iquitos went smoothly and well, Lima had hot water issues at hotel and we were all uncomfortable with that. Monika tried hard but might need some training regarding dealing with difficulties. Attention to professionalism and flexibility in response to difficult situations would improve the experience.
