The wonders of Peru and Bolivia await as you walk beneath the Amazon Jungle's lush canopy, trek the llama-filled plains of the Sacred Valley and stroll the cobblestone streets of Cusco on this 15-day journey from Lima to La Paz. Search for monkeys and medicinal plants in the Amazon, tackle the ancient road to Machu Picchu, experience a homestay in a traditional community on the shore of Lake Titicaca and finish in La Paz, where Indigenous communities continue to form the city’s cultural fabric. With the option to see Machu Picchu by trek or by train, plus the expert knowledge of local leaders, this trip will no doubt leave you breathless – in more ways than one.
Highlights
- Choose your own adventure on your way to the mother of all Inca cities – Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Test yourself on the challenging Classic Inca or Inca Quarry trails or take the train for a more leisurely experience.
- Visit the evergreen Amazon. Explore rainforest trails with a local guide, look out for wildlife and medicinal plants, and stay in a tranquil jungle lodge overnight.
- Sleep in a mud-brick hut on the shore of vast, ancient Lake Titicaca during a homestay in a traditional Andean community and visit the floating reed islands of Uros.
- Explore hectic La Paz, where Indigenous Aymara and Quechua traditions flourish in contemporary Bolivia – a living example of the resilient traditional communities of South America.
- Trek the Inca Trail, Inca Quarry Trail or take the scenic train route – either way, you'll be travelling responsibly with a company that cares about balancing profit and purpose. Intrepid is the largest B Corp certified operator on the Inca Trail and we’re committed to operating our treks for the benefit of all.

If you only have a short amount of time to see the world, I couldn't recommend this tour enough. It covered everything I wanted and we were very looked after.

This amazing trip took us to some of the most incredible places in Peru. It combined city sightseeing with spectacular natural scenery and so much interesting history and vibrant culture in between. Highly recommended!

This trip was the perfect way to really see Peru. The fast-paced itinerary allowed us to see so much of the country, and our activities felt like we saw the real Peru, not just the usual tourist points. 100% recommend.

We saw lots, did lots, enjoyed lots, had a great time, it not just for 30 something, our trip were older 50 to 70 but we met other intrepid groups that were in the 20 to 30 range. I would do another trip

I cannot recommend Intrepid higher for the Peru Inca tour. I absolutely enjoyed learning about Peru as a country and it's local communities. Intrepid seems to work in a really sustainable way with it's communities which I think is fantasic. Our tour guide Hernan was amazing, very friendlyz knowledgeable and a great person. I am a vegetarian and always felt considered in every meal choice even in remote communities. I am so very happy with my trip but sad to see it coming to an end.

Our trip through the Scared Land of the Incas was magical! Our guide Will truly went above and beyond at so many points through the trip. In the Amazon we experienced the best of the rainforest staying in the most amazing lodges. In Cusco our guide suggested the BEST restaurants had heaps of great recommendations for all our random requests - he also went above and beyond to organise massages and express laundry for us to make our travels more comfortable. Through our countless road trips our guide shared with us an enormous amount of knowledge about local cultures, customs and cuisines, and would keep us all highly entertained with jokes throughout. Not only did Will have fun with us, he was very respectful for all the local communities and people we interacted with. I would recommend him and this trip in a heartbeat because of the amazing experiences and people we’ve met along the way.

I have just completed the Sacred Land of the Incas tour. It was fabulous. Every last detail considered and Holger, our Tour Leader, was not only well organised and caring, but a wealth of knowledge. Another fantastic Intrepid tour.

As usual Intrepid didn’t disappoint. Thoroughly enjoyed my adventures on the Sacred Land of the Incas tour. If intending to travel and you are fortunate to have Holger as your Leader you will be in very good hands.

The itinerary was amazing and Frank, along with our local guides, made this an unforgettable trip. Intrepid made the holiday easy and allowed us to see parts of the world we’d never visit otherwise.
01/03/2024
Our trip with Intrepid and our amazing guide Frank provided us with a memorable holiday getaway! The amazon river & trek to Macchu Pichu were the high lights of the trip. We enjoyed the indigenous portion of the trip yet the travel time is long. In hindsight, we were fortunate to experience what we did what they do on a daily basis.

The perfect mix of adventure and nature in the jungle, learning about local communities, and seeing great sights of Machu Picchu / Inca Trail. My only suggestion is less time in Puno and a more thought out itinerary in Bolivia.

Amazing trip ever!
