Learn to cook Paella, fresh Mussels, and delicious fish, find out the difference between Pintxos and Tapas, taste incredible wines, walk in the Picos Europa NP and join the pilgrims in Santiago de Compostela - this is a great trip but allow extra time in Lisbon to get to see even more of Portugal.

With knowledgeable and approachable tour guides and manageable distances on various transport modes, the Intrepid tour of Spain and Portugal was a relaxing and rewarding taste into life on the Iberian Peninsula. With a small group size, it was inevitable that new and lasting friendships were created.

We had so much fabulous food and wine on our ‘Spain and Portugal Real Food Adventure’. The cooking classes included were lots of fun, and the scenery and towns were beautiful. However I think Intrepid is struggling with the busy return to travel, and needs to lift its game.

A tour leader makes all the difference to your experience and Marta gave us an outstanding introduction to Portugal.

Intrepid delivered in all aspects of this trip. The interesting food and activities gave incredible insight into the culture and history of this region. It is a busy trip using various modes of transport(lots of walking) and includes amazing food experiences in incredible and varied locations - fantastic cooking classes, lunch in the Douro Valley at a beautiful vineyard, dinner in a medieval town, farmstay with a local family, wine, port and cider tastings , lots of delicious tapas/pintxos, charcuterie, cheeses, olives, seafood - you won’t go hungry, magnificent scenery and a group of like minded and enthusiastic travellers to share the journey!

I cannot recommend this tour. It is poor value and does not offer a genuine food focus. Included meals were poor quality, little help given on goid restaurants in free time. Breakfasts often not included when no other options nearby. Relief on many market visits-free to intrepid. In one included meal we were served Vienetta-on a food tour!! Enough said, cross.
